Will Evolution Doom the Cheetah

It seems that evolution isn't working for the cheetah, or at least is working against it. Having gone through a genetic bottleneck it seems that they are suffering from inbreeding.

The irony is that in evolutionary terms they are doomed. Natural selection and mutation are quite capable of whittling away at genetic diversity and reducing the size of a gene pool. It is incredibly bad at topping the gene pool up with new genes.

Applying this Adam and Eve we would expect them to have perfect genes. Their children sadly have been subject to death and decay. When Noah and his family went onto the Ark and subsequently repopulated the Earth they had better genetics than us. I seriously doubt that eight people could repopulate the Earth now. As time goes by the problems of inbreeding become more pronounced. Contrary to evolutionary theory, mutations are debilitating not helpful.
