There has been a subtle change you may not have noticed. No longer does an official form ask for your sex/gender (i.e. biological sex) instead the terminology has switched to assigned gender. In other words the gender your parents assigned to you. The assumption being that you can change that at a later date.
Lets be clear here that we are discussing normal healthy men or women with the correct anatomy who want to be designated the opposite gender. All that is required is that they want to be called "male" or "female". Thereis no requirement to undergo surgery.
This has led to "problems" as biological men have to be given access to womens refuges, womens prisons,and womens wards. Women in refuges have frequently been abused by men and the refuges make a consciuos effort to restrict men's access to what is essentially a "safe space" for the women. Yet if an anatomical man walks up and asks for refuge because he thinks of himself as a woman - all that "safe space" stuff goes out the window.
Having targeted bakeries over celebration cakes, it seems that the LGBT social justice warriors have started targeting beauticians. Traditionaly women have had bikini trims and waxes done by other women. Now men (biological) who are women (?) are targeting women who offer waxing. Any woman who refuses a full brazilian wax is guilty of sex discrimination.
That they may not be fully trained to wax a man's genitals - irrelevant!
That they may feel uncomfortable waxing a man's genitals - irrelevant!
That they may have religous objections to such intimacy with a man's genitals - irrelevant!
If there is any area where the distinction between men and women is genuine it is under attack. The derogatory term for those of us who see male and female as normal is "binary". What is a biological fact is rewritten as a social construct. Bill Nye the Science Guy had an explanation
